Greg Penner And Carrie Walton Penner Net Worth In 2022 Exceeds $1 Billion

The Denver Broncos of the National Football League has agreed to be purchased by a group led by Rob Walton, the son of Walmart Inc. founder Sam Walton, for a price expected to be the highest ever paid for a US professional sports franchise.

They didn’t reveal the deal’s parameters, which the NFL’s finance committee must approve, and league ownership.

ESPN stated that the deal was $4.65 billion, citing anonymous NFL sources. The Bowlen family, the Broncos’ longtime owners, announced in February that they planned to sell the team.

The estimated price would be higher than the $3.3 billion sales of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets to Alibaba Group Holding Inc. co-founder Joe Tsai in 2019 and the $2.3 billion purchase of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers by David Tepper in 2018.

The Denver Broncos have agreed to sell the franchise to current Walmart heir Rob Walton and his family for a record-breaking amount.

The sale agreement with Walton, 77, his daughter, Carrie Walton-Penner, and his son-in-law, Greg Penner, was confirmed by Broncos CEO and president Joe Ellis in a statement.

The sale’s specific details were not released, but according to 9News Denver, Walton would pay $4.65 billion for the team.

That’s more than double the most recent sale price for an NFL team, and it’d be a new high for an American sports franchise sale. Walton and Penner sent their own statement, expressing their joy and thanking Ellis and the Broncos.
