Experimental Features
BREEZE
The Breeze, a newly introduced hostile mob, can spawn via Trial Spawner within select rooms in Trial Chambers.
This agile creature primarily navigates by leaping around its target, demonstrating an ability to cover considerable distances.
Its offensive tactic involves launching volatile wind energy in the form of wind charge projectiles towards its target.
These wind charges inflict minor damage upon direct contact with entities.
Upon collision with an entity or block, wind charge projectiles emit a wind burst, which forcefully pushes back nearby entities.
Additionally, wind bursts possess the capability to activate specific blocks, including non-iron doors and trapdoors, buttons, levers, bells (both ringing and swinging), and extinguishing lit candles.
However, it’s worth noting that wind bursts do not impact Iron Doors, Iron Trapdoors, or any block influenced by a Redstone signal.
TRIAL SPAWNER
Trial Spawner is an innovative variation of Monster Spawners designed to dispense rewards upon completion and can present varying challenge levels in multiplayer settings.
The challenge level escalates with the detection of each new nearby player, persisting until reset during the Trial Spawner’s cooldown phase.
Each Trial Spawner is programmed to summon a finite number of mobs, the quantity determined by its existing challenge level, adhering to the constraint of spawning only within the spawner’s line of sight and without regard to lighting conditions.
Spawned mobs remain in the environment until defeated, adding to the persistence and complexity of the challenge.
Upon vanquishing all spawned mobs, the Trial Spawner releases rewards proportionate to the challenge level achieved.
Following the reward distribution, the Trial Spawner enters a 30-minute cooldown period, during which it abstains from spawning further mobs.
Notably, Trial Spawners cannot be crafted or acquired by players in Survival mode but are naturally dispersed within Trial Chambers.
They boast formidable resilience, rendering them challenging to mine and impervious to explosions.
In Creative mode, Trial Spawners initially lack a designated mob type but can be configured by players using Spawn Eggs.
Creative and Spectator players remain undetected by Trial Spawners, adding an element of strategic advantage.
TRIAL CHAMBERS
Trial Chambers are new structures in the Overworld where players can explore and take on combat challenges during the mid-game.
Trial Chambers are made of Copper and Tuff blocks and can be found in different sizes, from large to small.
Trial Chambers are relatively common in the Deepslate layer of the underground.
The layout of each Trial Chamber is randomly generated and can include traps, reward chests, and combat spaces.
Supply chests can be found between different rooms, providing blocks and items to help navigate the trials.
Reward chests are guarded by challenges in each room and can contain enchanted books and equipment.
The loot found in reward chests is still being adjusted and may not be final.
Each Trial Chamber includes Trial Spawners with melee, small melee, or ranged categories, and the mobs spawned are randomized for each Trial Chamber.
Some Trial Spawners in unique rooms always spawn Breezes.
TRIAL KEY
A Trial Key is a new item that can only be obtained from Trial Spawners.
Trial Keys do not have any functionality.
ARMADILLO
The Armadillo is a new neutral mob introduced in this update.
It drops Armadillo Scutes periodically and when brushed.
Armadillos spawn in Savannas.
The Armadillo rolls up when it detects a threat, such as players who are sprinting, players on a mount or in a vehicle, or undead mobs.
It does not roll up when fleeing, in water, in the air, or if being led.
While rolled up, the Armadillo does not walk or eat and is not tempted by food.
It unrolls if no threats are detected for 3 seconds.
