Travis Ely was a resident of Nashville, Indiana. In addition, he was a student at Purdue University and a member of the campus fishing community. Travis Ely finished 35th out of 248 boats in the most recent tournament.
On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Travis Ely passed away in a car accident. According to sources, the vehicle crash happened on the way back from the ACA-Collegiate Bass Championship fishing tournament.
The Collegiate Bass Fishing Community shared a tribute on social media:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Travis Ely and Hunter Heckman. As we know more information, we will share it with all the angling community members. Once again, please keep those affected in your prayers in this difficult time.”

It is a terrible phase of life when everything is going according to plan, and suddenly, a tragic accident happens, and you lose something. Like Travis Ely, who was a good student with good fishing skills and had recent achievements, everything was going well, but unfortunately, it will not remain the same.
