Tyler Adams was raised by his single mother, Melissa Russo, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He met his stepfather when he was thirteen.
Despite his difficulty, he always wanted to play soccer, and his stepfather and mother made it possible. Adams and his mother were alone for a few years until he reached class seven. She followed her son’s aspirations and returned to school when he was in second grade. After he was born, his mother took a break from her lessons to concentrate on parenting him.
Adams claims their lives were like roller coasters, and they never knew if they would stay on the tracks. But the mother-son had each other all the time. He did and still does look up to my mother.
He always followed her during those formative years, watching how diligently she worked. He remembers how he sat right there next to her when she went to the library to study after working a full-time job. They would spend nearly six hours there until the library closed at 11 p.m.
His mother realized this and did everything in her power to ensure he could pursue it when Tyler was allowed to attend the Red Bulls Academy.
Due to their busy schedules, they had to finish dinner in the car. Since it would be 10 or 11 at night by the time they went home, she would make sure Adams completed my homework before they left.
