Corky Palmer and his wife, Debbie were married for 30 years and resided in the Hattiesburg area.

Corky Palmer passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, afternoon, according to the university press release. Corky Palmer was 68 years old. His cause of death has not been announced at this time.

Debbie Palmer, his beloved wife, and his brothers, Ted and Mike Palmer, survive him. According to Southern Miss, funeral arrangements for the legendary coach are still being finalised.

Corky Palmer was born on March 15, 1954, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and attended Hattiesburg High School, where he earned three varsity baseball letters as a catcher.

Palmer played in college for the Golden Eagles. Palmer finished his career with a.277 batting average and graduated from Southern Miss in 1977.
